I think they have applications. You obviously can't just throw them into any deck, but their effects are very powerful, and all of them have at least one class where skipping that mana cost isn't much of an issue. Rogue, for example, has Jade Spirit and nothing else as four drops it wants to play, and is also a class that desperately wants taunt and lifegain. Ramp Druid can easily pass up on Feral Rage, and a three-mana Faceless Manipulator works well with a lot of the cards that deck is already playing. Even Keleseth in Handbuff Paladin allows you to duck the major problem Handbuff decks have generally had (your hand is too small for Smuggler's Run or Grimestreet Outfitter to be a good value), and you only have to pass up Hydrologist and the Outfitter itself.

It's an interesting deckbuilding restriction to think about, and I'd like to try it myself -- but not if I have to spend 1600 dust to find out. A lot of people thought Reno Jackson was just inherently unworkable when he was first spoiled, but a powerful effect is worth jumping through some hoops.

5 Bone Barons
6 Drain Soul
6 Bloodrazer plus a Golden
7 Animated Berserkers
5 Tainted Zealots
7 Wicked Skeletons

For legendaries, I got Garrosh, Rexxar, and Arfus.

I probably should have taken it as a sign that my first better-than-rare card was a gold Meat Wagon.

Of the cards I wanted, I only got Jaina. I made the Lich King, Anduin, and Uther, and I've still got enough dust for one more legendary, but I'm holding off on spending it for now. I still want Sindragosa, but I didn't open some of the epics I wanted (most specifically Corpsetakers), and I did open the Druid legendary, who kind of cries out to be played with the Druid Death Knight. I think I'll wait and see if a particularly fun list pops up, and use my leftover dust to make that.

I only managed to play a little with the new cards thanks to spotty internet (which resulted in me somehow getting a disconnect during the prologue battle), but so far I'm 2-0 against people playing their Death Knights on turn 9.

I got the Rogue Death Knight, and realized that since I never play constructed anyway, I'm fine with that. Now time to figure out why I'm so interested in getting more packs if I never play anything that requires having my own cards.

I liked how Lady Deathwhisper had a special response/taunt for the tactic I used against her, but it still worked anyway.

Play Equality in that fight, and you'll get "That is not the good idea you think it is" in response. But if you put enough Taunt and Divine Shield between your minion and death, it can still work.

i don't really play this since i got into shadowverse but i did have 5 packs and got a druid death knight so that seems fun. Im gonna start using coins later but i really want a better one. also got blackguard which seems alright and trechery which seems way too situational for budget but oh well.

that's all i think

Got Garrosh and Anduin out of my free packs.

Going to work through my 30-some gold next.

Also got a damn Meat Wagon, so hooray. Not even golden.

I'm getting a lot of druid cards so I guess I'm gonna budget some death druid gimmick. I can't imagine it working well tho lol. Probably just try to work it into a jade deck or something. Infestation with idol might be a fun late game rush

For what it's worth, early returns are that Druids made out like bandits this expansion.

They'd better have, to make up for destroying their main competitive deck.

Druid had three competitive decks before the expansion (Jade, Ramp, and Token), all of which got new tools. In addition, it's possible that some weird taunt theme could work. Besides, the Jade Idol hoser isn't in any way a deck-killer.

I'm playing this again because of free cards...I should probably just invest some dust in good Murlocs because they're basically an evergreen archetype at this point, right? I tend to fare okay with them in low level ranked and I've been playing Shaman. It's basically a hard lose if someone kills my first 1-4 drops, but other than that I either win or get a close match.

Countdown to Blizzard needing DK Uther to have to summon five horsemen for his effect to trigger...

That seems completely unnecessary and breaks the flavor of the card.

So my prologue Legendary was Garrosh. Now, I've always liked Warrior, but I also never really understood its one gameplan revolving around the Whirlwind-type spell that hurts all minions, combined with its other cards that reward you for having damaged minions. It's just never really clicked in my head, either for deck building or how to actually play that archetype. I mean it made sense when Grim Patron was broken, but that's because of the card. It always felt like you needed too many cards all at once so that your minions can take advantage of being hurt while also not outright losing to their minions, who would have more health than yours because they're already damaged...I don't get it.

I wasn't playing close enough attention to their booster pack changes. How many packs does it take now to get the guaranteed Legendary?

You're guaranteed a Legendary within the first 10 packs of a set you've never opened before. After that, pity timer is still 40 packs.

Does this work retroactively? I don't think I've opened 10 packs of Un'goro or the one before that either.

Two decks is more powerful than one.

I got death knight malfurion and an ultimate infestation so I started playing Jade Druid again. It's really disgusting right now

Yeah DK Malf is probably not the strongest, but is very much "throw me in this already good deck and make it better I don't care what it is".
