Default Songs stuck in your head today

Today I have Bobby Darin's 1959 song "Dream Lover" in my head, as well as, on and off, as well as REO Speedwagon's 1980 pile of bullshit "Take It On The Run". How about you?

Now it's "Sloop John B". The 1966 Beach Boys version.

Also, check out the wikipedia page for C.L.Y.D.E.

Someone went to the trouble of listing all the episodes, the air dates and the list of characters in each episode BUT each one has an entry that says "Plot" left completely blank. Someone clearly was cataloging this, then in the middle of it said "what am I doing?", got up and walked away.

My brain usually cycles between five or six songs. Right now, it's this one:

I get Undertale music stuck in my head a lot, and thanks to the magic of leitmotif it always eventually turns into the title track:

I can not stand idly by while you disparage the artistry of REO Speedwagon.

Ode to Branson is so grim and catchy, too bad it didn't win the Emmy.

And yet, this is all John Mellencamp has seen fit to write for us. Also, that James Dean impression, how could nobody have stopped him from putting that on the record?

I'm not a fan of the song (it's boring), but it's definitely not meant to be taken with a straight face. Mellencamp's whole thing is critically reflecting on the emptiness of the American dream, in the musical language of good ol' heartland rock (Small Town, Pink Houses). By the '80s, Americans had been taught for a whole generation that their free-wheeling teenage years were the peak of their existence.

EDIT: And now the song is stuck in my head. Fuuuuuck!

Here's a big easter about that song that I'm curious if anyone wants to crack.

Now back in 1993 my family bought a kickass Acer computer and it came with this game where you play a rabbit or a squirrel and you have to save your girlfriend. It was a sidescrolling Duke Nukem (the very very first Duke Nukem) shoot 'em up type game.

A remix of that song was in the game. I'm going to train my Google-fu to maximum levels over this but if someone beats me to the bunch, I promise the grand reward of fleeting happiness.

Ah, so it's like the Pink Floyd song Young Lust. The context is conveniently lacking when you hear just the one song.

If only Monty Python had known, they could've prefaced "I Bet You They Won't Play This Song On The Radio" with a pop hit and said that was the joke.
