The solution I'd have favored would be making the Quest cards Epic instead of Legendary.

They made them Legendary because they only want one-ofs to be possible.

Un'Goro should have been an Adventure. I imagine it was an Adventure before they chucked Adventures into the bin.

They wouldn't have been able to give each class a quest if it had been an Adventure.

The current implementation of quests is definitely suboptimal, but I don't know any other way they could have done it. They need to be legendary so you can only play one, and there needs to be more of them than an Adventure can reasonably allow (without jacking up the price and making it 100 cards or something).

And that aside, Un'Goro definitely feels like the best set they've released so far in terms of the number of interesting decks it's enabled.

for some reason i came up with the concept of making a priest deck that tries to steal and complete the opponent's quest, then after workshopping it for a bit i realized it made way more sense to just try and steal (then maybe rat) the reward

i'm going to try it when i get home. i wish i'd thought of this day 1

Just did my once-an-expansion arena run and confirmed that, yep, won't be doing that again this expansion!

arena's easy if you play kabal

it's sort of easy if you play lotus

arena feels like garbage if you pick goons

(i mean there's a lot of factors but i feel like the power differences are pretty staggering. rogue is probably a little stronger than priest and hunter and druid seem close maybe, but basically all of the good card generation effects and accessible removal are stacked on a few classes)

Seriously, who are these liars on metastats? Elemental shaman is fucking terrible.

It's definitely confirmed that there was no point complaining about Time Warp. Freeze mages abound but none of them use the quest anymore. Delete Ice Block and Frost Nova, please.

Also please delete Finja. I don't know if it actually improves fast decks overall to include the murloc package, but if you do and draw Finja, it's an automatic win.

The new Paladin stuff is kind of fun. Been making a decent climb with Control Paladin recently.

Playing Priest in the weekly tavern brawl is hilarious. I think I've killed more people by Fatigue this week than I have the entire rest of the time I've been playing the game.

An amazing ending. Once he was down to 1 life and I realized your Eye for an Eye was out, I was hoping for that exact finish.

You know what's a surprisingly great addition to the Pirate Warrior deck, which I hardly ever see anyone use or talk about? Spellbreakers.

Sharp Gadgetzan steel? Your magic will not save you.

When earth moves, empires fall? Your magic will not save you.

Put your faith in the Light? Your magic will not save you.

Nobody sees it coming, and they've won me (just as examples) my last two games. One was against a Paladin who thought his Mogu'shan Warden would buy him a turn to staunch the bleeding, put a Spikeridged Steed on it after I Silenced it, and resigned when I Silenced it again. The other was a Handlock who Faceless Shambler'd a Mountain Giant, to no avail.

Not every match sees people throwing down emergency Taunts to thwart you, but a 4/3 still isn't too bad; most versions of Pirate Warrior run Kor'kron Elite, after all, and Silence is situationally better than Charge. And it's not just Taunt minions that make good targets; defanging the Frost Nova/Doomsayer combo, or a Scavenging Hyena, or Tundra Rhino is good. And you can Silence your own minions to remove Frozen from them...

Spellbreaker's the only Battlecry silence they didn't nerf so if you can make due with the body he's great.

New features coming. As of the next patch, you'll be able to complete normal quests by playing friends, and you'll be able to import and export decklists from within the client.

Man... I do not know about this Brawl. I keep getting Rafaam and then getting beat down.

They actually nerfed Kel'Thuzad since the last time they ran this Brawl. His hero power used to be Resurrect, and he was basically unbeatable if he got out one of his unique legends. The only way for Rafaam to win was to hope the Kel'Thuzad player misplayed and diluted his dead minions pool win Haunted Creepers and Mad Scientists. It feels more even now.

I had exactly the opposite impression, Rafaam's hero power seems overwhelmingly good and KT's deck has a bunch of chaff. Maybe I've been getting lucky with my staff pieces?

KT has better minions but Rafaam has good spot removal and biard clears and a MUCH better hero power. KT needs to get an advantage in the early to midgame and hope they can beat Rafaam before his hero power overwhelms.

I think its prob about 65-35 in favour if Rafaam, but thats just my experience (I played 4 brawl games, all as KT, and won once).

I played the brawl about half a dozen times, and I don't think I once saw the Rafaam player open with anything other than a staff piece. When I won as Kel'Thuzad, it was only ever because I managed to clone Heigan the Unclean really early.

Rafaam is considered to have the advantage in this Brawl, but mostly it comes down to RNG swing on Rafaam's hero power. KT has better cards, but Rafaam can roll some pretty nasty things. Or can get a hand full of unplayable/unhelpful stuff.

kelthuzad literally has a 9-mana minion which rafaam can nullify all the effects of for 0 mana

this is not a good brawl

actually it would be more accurate to say that rafaam has wildly undercosted answers for everything and an infinitely better hero power, but anyway

Basically KT has a steady power curve, whereas Rafaam is all over the place. The longer things drag on, the more you need to be rolling natural 20s against the RNG almost consistently to counter after a certain point.
