Been watching way too much Star vs. the Forces of Evil the last couple weeks as they've been running marathons and my daughter will only put up with so much golf on the weekends. Turned into a really solid and funny show. Did not expect that from the first couple of episodes I watched back when it started.

Apparently, Powerpuff Girls got a full series DVD box set release not too long ago.

And apparently, my local Wal-Mart had it in its Summer Clearance racks.

And apparently it transitioned from being in that box to being on my DVD shelf.

Weird.

Nice. Though by the last couple seasons, I remember it feeling pretty forgettable. Anyway, get ready for puns. And Mojo Jojo.

Oh, man, we got to do a top 50 monkeys and apes list.

If one of either the nomination or results thread isn't titled (or riffing on) "Planet of the Apes", you're doing it wrong.

Well, obviously it would be titled "From Chimpan-A to Chimpan-Z".

Oh, hey, Matt Groening is doing a new show that sounds like Futurama with fantasy instead of sci-fi with lots of Futurama cast members in small roles. AND MATT BERRY! Sign me up.

Everything about this sounds fantastic except for the bits where I remember how absolutely terrible Bender's Game was.

To be fair, I don't think the problem came entirely down to the setting.

Crappy news: voice actress June Foray just died at the age of 99. She was in pretty much everything, from old Looney Tunes shorts to the Disney Afternoon cartoons that aired decades later. I was hoping she'd make it to one hundred, but alas.

R.I.P. June Foray.
It was always a treat to hear you in cartoons, TV, movies, you name it.
