Actually, that's the only part of the game that isn't stupid and boring.

The NES Ninja Gaiden games are pretty easy. I don't get why anyone has trouble with them.

FFIII didn't need a checkpoint in the final dungeon gauntlet, and they wisely chose not to add one to the DS remake because doing so would have cheapened the experience.

Roger ebert was right about videogames and, perhaps, the last 20 minutes of feardotcom being "brilliant"

Japanese studios are dumping all their games on Steam because they know white people will buy anything if it's in a bundle or on sale.

god of war surely has some of its roots in castlevania, so it's little wonder it has a cellphone spinoff that's advertised entirely on the basis of kate upton's chest

Your siblings were always better than you at video games and would just let you win because your mom asked them to.

Most video games are role playing games because you assume the role of a character.

... Except Zelda. Zelda is clearly not an RPG.

every snes game sounds like it's being played back in a tin can speaker stuck in a toilet in a public bathroom where one other stall is being flushed and at least two others are overtaken by extremely loud farts

Quest For Glory is a far superior RPG adventure series than The Legend of Zelda.

`toss are in a better place now since the third expansion has come out, though their air units seem a little redundant. Void Rays and Tempests really compete for the same niche, and Carriers are still just big hunks of 'win more'.

I'd compare it more to the frantic, dying gasp of a dial-up modem if it were covered in terrified bees.

More akin to someone feeding a running jet engine into a rusty woodchipper.

Undertale made a powerful statement about combat in RPGs, by showing us how pointlessly boring the alternative can be.

Dark souls 1 not only makes absolutely no effort to show what any of it's mechanics do, it also is an inconsistent broken game that doesn't even follow it's own rules. it's like they took every weapon at every upgrade level in every upgrade path, and gave it arbitrary damage numbers based on what your stats are.

Hideo Kojima tends to ruin his arthouse movies by forcing me to pick up a controller from time to time.

Not that it really matters, because the Dark Souls series is so braindead-easy it doesn't matter what weapon you have.

Nobody but saddos would give a damn about Yasumi Matsuno's inscrutable grinds if he hadn't lucked into working with some of the finest aestheticians in the industry.
